Welcome to Paymitra. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Paymitra mobile application and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Paymitra, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Paymitra. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Account and access
Paymitra does not require account creation for basic usage. If you register for early access or subscribe to a plan, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your access. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. Subscriptions, credits, and billing
- Plans: Paymitra offers tiered subscription plans with included monthly usage allowances for voice transcription, text entries, and AI assistant interactions.
- Credit usage: Credits are consumed when you use voice entry, text entry, AI chat, or report generation features. Each feature has a defined credit cost as displayed in the app and on our website.
- Monthly reset: Subscription credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle and do not roll over to the next period.
- Top-ups: Additional credit packs and speech time can be purchased separately. Top-up packs expire 90 days from purchase unless otherwise stated.
- Billing: All purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. Pricing, refunds, and cancellations are subject to Google Play's policies.
- Price changes: We may adjust pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect on their renewal.
4. AI-powered features
Paymitra uses artificial intelligence to provide expense extraction, categorization, conversational analysis, and financial insights. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI outputs are provided as assistance and may not always be accurate or complete.
- You are responsible for reviewing and confirming all AI-extracted data before saving. The AI assistant never auto-saves without your explicit confirmation.
- AI-generated insights do not constitute professional financial, tax, or investment advice. Consult a qualified professional for such matters.
- AI capabilities may change, improve, or be modified as we update the Service.
5. Your data and intellectual property
- Ownership: You retain all rights, title, and interest in your expense data and any content you input into the Service.
- Local storage: Your financial records are stored on your device. We do not claim any ownership or license to your locally stored data.
- Processing license: By using voice and text features, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to transmit your input to our service providers solely for the purpose of providing the Service (transcription and AI processing). This data is not retained beyond the processing session.
- Export: You may export your data at any time in supported formats from within the app.
6. Our intellectual property
The Paymitra application, including its design, branding, AI models, algorithms, code, documentation, and all related materials, is the proprietary property of Paymitra and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without explicit written permission.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose
- Attempt to bypass credit limits, quota enforcement, or usage controls
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization
8. Service availability
Paymitra's AI-powered features (voice transcription, AI chat, and smart categorization) require an active internet connection and depend on third-party service providers. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of these features. Core offline functionality — including expense viewing, editing, and report generation from existing data — remains available without connectivity.
We reserve the right to perform scheduled maintenance, during which certain features may be temporarily unavailable. We will provide reasonable advance notice when possible.
9. Termination and suspension
- By you: You may stop using Paymitra at any time. Cancel your subscription through Google Play. Your locally stored data remains on your device after cancellation.
- By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to subscription features if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive usage patterns, or if required by law. We will provide notice when reasonably possible.
- Effect of termination: Upon termination, your right to use paid features ceases. Your existing local data is not affected.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that AI-generated outputs will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Paymitra is not a substitute for professional financial advice.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PAYMITRA AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Paymitra and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
13. Dispute resolution
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, either party may pursue remedies available under applicable law.
14. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
15. Modifications to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Paymitra regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
